The version 1.00 of JugiPaint is now available. This version is in no way special because of its round number – it is just another update, a stage in development when I consider that JugiPaint has been improved enough to varrant a new version. So what is new this time? The main new thing are tools and features related to creating pixel art. A new brush mode – pixel mode has been implemented which enables brushes to work at the “whole pixel” (integer) level and renders semi transparent brush areas as dithering pattern. When you create pixel graphics you usually do it at high zoom levels but it is convenient to have, at the same time, a view on your work in normal size or with lesser zoom. For that purpose JugiPaint now provides an “Extra View” window. Another new tool is the “Color Reduction” filter which may be useful if you want to convert full color image into pixel graphics.
Users who have no interest in pixel graphics may find more interesting another new brush mode – filter mode. It provides three filters: hue/saturation, brightness/contrast and blur. These filters work like ordinary filters, they are just more handy used via brush for making local adjustments.
Tried downloading this version but my virus scanner blocked the download, now I can’t download the file anymore.
Maybe quit the virus scanner temporary to download the file?
Still does not download. In fact I get a “page reset” when I try. So it’s not just my virus scanner but my browser blocking the download. I have no problem with other downloads.
Try deleting cookies. Which browser do you use? I tested downloads in Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer and they are ok.
I tried it with Firefox, Chrome and Safari. I even set the download URL as an exception in my virus scanner but the program still blocks the download.
Finally got it. I had to “strong arm” the virus scanner to let it download. When I installed it the scanner checked the file before it continued. And it did the same when I ran it for the first time. The virus scanner said it was okay so something in the program was triggering it.
